Game 3 at Conseco Fieldhouse felt like a home game, at times  for the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night. The Pacers and Coach Vogel even understood how this could be with the Bulls having the history of traveling in large numbers. Earlier this week Vogel joked about it, by asking Pacer fans to support the team, and that metal detectors would keep Bulls fans out of the building.  The game was a sellout, and Indiana had a clear advantage in crowd support, but it was about 60-40, with plenty of RED. Check out the Bulls post game fan rally via Jeremiah Johnson of FOX59.

My Kinda of town

It’s good to see that Cutler is out and about in his new town. JC, has been seen at the United Center, Wrigley Field, and a few of the local watering holes (Insert Left) but before we bitch about it, one must think has Jay Cutler saved Chicago sports? Since arriving in the Windy City. The Blackhawks are putting out the Flames, the Bulls have beaten the Celtics, and both one of the baseball teams are playing some good baseball.

“The Pope & GGW”

Folks in the Philadelphia area watching a live telecast of the Good Friday service at the Vatican last week got more than they prayed for. A commercial for the “Girls Gone Wild’s Search for the Wildest Bar in America” DVD accidentally aired during the 2 a.m. cable telecast.  Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis claimed a “huge spike” in sales and said he was “happy to have shared an audience with the Pope.”

In a story from earlier in the week, mj-lockerMichael Jordan’s locker from the Berto Center sold for $23,000 in the Hunt Auction. A full 96-97 Jordan uniform sold for $24,150

mike-north-bookTalking sports in the city of Chicago is often heated and always passionate, and when it comes to talking Chicago sports, Mike North is in a class by himself. He has led the sports talk radio industry out of its formative stages and became the city’s most recognized voice. With his in-your-face style there is no reverential treatment of guests, no matter how big their celebrity status, just because they deigned to come on his show. In fact, the opposite is true. Anyone who comes on the air with him better know what they’re talking about and better be able to explain the reasons behind their actions, or they will be exposed as frauds, phonies, or incompetents.

Why do the Bears carry the city? What’s the basic difference between Sox and Cubs fans? Will the Bulls ever return to glory? Can the Blackhawks recapture their stature as one of the top teams in the NHL? North has all the answers and he does not shortchange the reader when it comes to opinions.

Look for the book to be available on May 1st, and on May 14th North will be autographing his new book at the Borders at 150 North State Street, Chicago at 12:30

mj-lockerFor Michael Jordan fans with some extra cash on hand, the Bulls and Hunt Auctions might have some items you might be intrested in. Hunt Auctions are offering one of two lockers that Jordan used at the team’s practice facility in the 1990s. Other items include game jerseys and autographed sneakers from Jordan along with memorabilia from Boston Celtics legends Bob Cousy and Larry Bird, the Harlem Globetrotters and the 2008 U.S. national team. Proceeds from the U.S. national team memorabilia will go to the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame Fund.

The NBA announced their elected class of 2009 on Monday. The class includes Michael Jordan, David Robinson, John Stockton and his coach Utah’s Jerry Sloan, plus Rutgers women’s coach C. Vivian Stringer was also elected.
